Just a quick update on Half Full Episode 8, it should hopefully be finished for Sunday night/Monday.
There's a couple more shots to put together but from looking at a rough cut of the episode I'm pretty pleased with it. It's quite possibly one of the most wonderfully deranged things I've ever made and the cast are brilliant in it.
I was getting a bit fatigued with Half Full and ready to rest it for a bit, but getting so close to the end of this project has refuelled my enthusiasm for the show. The aim is to produce episodes about 5 minutes long in the future, I like cliff hangers but they do tend to alienate some viewers...
Just a few updates on projects I'm working at the moment, I'm voicing a couple of characters in the new series "Oddball" by Kreid (Ok technically a reboot, I think it's taking place in a different continuity to the shorts created so far)
Here's a preview of Episode 1, I play the guard opposite the rebel time keeper "Antique" played by the awesome Omahdon:
(I'll also be popping up again in Kreid's Oddball as another antagonist)
Half Full In the next episode of Half Full there'll be a scene where a large number of people die, I don't suppose anyone reading this would be up for recording a short death scream for me? (Ideally your impersonation of the Wilhelm scream. Though variations should be ok - I'm contactable by Email: mrkerin@googlemail.com or PM)
As I mentioned - it's for a crowd death scream, so the more the merrier :)
I've nearly finished recording the main cast voices for Half Full Episode 8, which should be ready at the end of this month or early June. I'm aiming to get as many voice actors from previous episodes as I can back for this one, I want it to be the most epic animation I've made yet (Though it won't have a musical number in it, maybe the next one will...)
After Episode 8 is finished off I'll be starting work on the next two:
Episode 9: Murder on the Bakerloo Express and Episode 10: Village of the Darned (I want to try and avoid 2 to 3 part episodes at least for the next few)
Anyway here's a re-run of Episode 7 for the time being if you haven't seen it yet:
I've seen in quite a few places people requesting information on how to export movies from flash. The most popular method of exporting is in Apple's .mov format. I've always found this format to be a bit temperental on a Windows system, so my usual method involves exporting .PNG files as a sequence and importing them into the video editor of your choice (In Adobe Premier there is a little box labled "Numbered stills" in the inport box that needs to be checked)
Once this is done you should have a pretty high quality image sequence ready to be mixed with the sound files and exported into the format of your choice. I usually export to mp4 due to it's high quality and low file size, WMV offers smaller file size as well but at times the video quality can seem a bit questionable.
Here's a short video I made on the subject anyway.
Hope the video helps somebody out there, at the end of the day it's best to play around with different methods and find what works best for you.
Tom
ps. The Latest episode of my series "Half Full" is online @ Newgrounds/Youtube
The penultimate episode of the current Half Full story is out!
Huge thanks to the cast and don't forget to check out David "Ramthundar" Ramthun's voice reels, Goldnerz's awesome shorts "Just two guys" and the awesomely rocking music of RobSoundtrack!
"On Sunday the 25th of March 2012, Edd Gould passed away after a six year long battle with cancer. He will be greatly missed"
I'm guttered, Eddsworld has had a big influence on my own animating endeavours. "25ft under the seat", "Moving Targets" and the Zanta Claus trilogy are some of my favourite toons to pop up on Newgrounds.
I really regret being too intimidated to say hello at the London meet last year and telling him how awesome his work is...
Preview of the next episode of my animated series is up!!! With Awesome new rocking theme tune by RobSoundtrack, check out his stuff in the portal :D
Episode should be finished fairly soon.
Other newsy stuff:
I'll be voicing villains in a couple of animations over the next couple of months, which i'm pretty excited about (I won't pin point when they're due out though, animation is a pretty long process)
No spoilers here, I'll be playing a baddie in Candle Cove by DingoWallyStudio (Alongside what looks like a Newgrounds all-star cast... which kinda begs the question what am I doing there?)
I'll also be playing the "Big Antagonist" (Real name is probably a spoiler) in "Oddball" by the talented Mr Kreid, which sneaking a peak at the animatic looks like it's going to rock.
I think he's looking for a couple of female voices for the project. If you can do a pretty decent English/Scotish/Irish accent (and um... you're female) why not have a go at auditioning for the chance to win big cash *prizes!!!!: Click here
Hope you're all doing well.

*By cash prizes I of of course mean my everlasting love and respect for you.
